The Gender Equality Office runs an institutionalized subsidy system to support researchers (full-time staff, specially appointed staff, and researchers) who have been reinstated after maternity/parental leave.
The purpose of this subsidy system is to support those who have temporarily suspended their research activities due to maternity/parental leave, to reinstate their positions and to catch up from where they have left off in their research during their absence.
We are now accepting applications from researchers who wish to employ this system in the latter term. For those who are interested, please contact the Gender Equality Office for details.
Participation Fees for Domestic/Foreign Academic Conferences (Round-trip Transportation Expense, Daily Allowance, Lodging Expense): Maximum 50,000JPY
- Granted to those who have been reinstated within a year at the time of application and will participate in domestic/foreign academic conferences to gather information.
- Granted to those who have been reinstated within 2 years at the time of application and will participate in domestic/foreign academic conferences to give a presentation or present a poster session as the main researcher.
Day Care Expenses During Domestic/Foreign Academic Conferences: Maximum 10,000JPY
- Granted to those who have been reinstated within two years at the time of application and must momentarily place their child in a day care facility on a holiday while they participate in domestic/foreign academic conferences.
Submission Fees for Dissertations (Proofreading Fees for English manuscripts are included): Maximum 30,000JPY
- Granted to those who have been reinstated within two years at the time of application and will write and submit a dissertation as the lead author.
